Eeva Männik, a 38-year-old cybersecurity expert at the Estonian Ministry of Defence, stumbles upon a hidden data file revealing large-scale data manipulation occurring within Estonia and beyond. Recently divorced and grappling with personal vulnerabilities, Eeva finds her life upended as she uncovers evidence suggesting that foreign powers and high-level Estonian officials are involved. As she digs deeper, she becomes a target: her apartment is ransacked, her phone is tapped, and she loses her job under suspicious circumstances, all accompanied by ominous warnings to cease her investigation.
Fleeing to Tartu, Eeva reconnects with her old university friend, Andre, an independent IT analyst. Together, they trace the data manipulations through Narva, encountering a Russian hacker named Dima, and eventually to Riga, where they meet Ilze, a former Latvian intelligence officer who sacrificed her career for the truth. Their pursuit leads them to Finland and Sweden, uncovering connections to international intelligence agencies and a journalist, Freja, who is willing to expose the truth. However, just as they prepare to release the information, Eeva faces betrayal, forcing her to confront a devastating choice back in Tallinn: sacrifice her freedom for the truth, or remain silent to protect those she loves.
